Meet Amalia

Meet Amalia Frost, also known as Mollie by everyone, and called Molls by me (which causes some serious annoyance.) She was born Izabella Frost, and it's always a bit awkward when Avada calls her "Iza" by accident.

Anyway, when I met her she was 13, although she certainly didn't look it. She's small and delicate-looking, and she has surprisingly strong arms - perfect for archery, her preferred sport. She keeps her dark brown, wavy hair out of her eyes with her circlet, one of her most prized possessions. Her skin is a creamy ivory, although it can look sallow, and her eyes are a bright, startling blue, exactly the color of the ocean. Her face either has a snooty, serious, or grim look about it. This girl never seems quite that happy.

When I met her, she was snooty, sneering at me, scorning my ideas, and generally hating my guts. She was prim and proper in general. The only time I ever saw her smiling and laughing was when she was playing with her wolfdog puppy, Golden Ice.

She kind of considered everyone as being "inferior" and while she accepted that she had to listen to her teachers, she did it kind of grudgingly, and was eager to point out any mistakes her tutor made. She thought she was perfect. Which I considered complete B.S.

There was a wolf maker, but Golden Ice doesn't quite
look like a ferocious wolf until the middle of the third
book. (I'm going to write a story about Othere - and
nothing is going to stop me...!!!
Wait - there are a couple exceptions to the inferior rule, but there's once in particular - ALBERT LANCE. He's the duke of Pranuer (well, not really the duke, but there's no direct translation for it in English, and Mollie thought duke sounded cool) and... well, you heard about him in my last post. Mollie drools over him. And then there's Gwendolyn, Gracie, Violet Namgan, and of course, myself... but you'll get to hear about those in future posts.

She told me that before, she had looked up to her parents, admired her sister (the horror!) and enjoyed life in general. But then she saw the bad things. She didn't like how her dad ran his kingdom. She didn't like how her mother demanded that all religions, even Soulism, were allowed. She didn't like her sister's immaturity and selfishness. She decided that someday, it would only be right when she took over. So she's been working as hard as she can, with her tutors and at her school, Larrots, ever since.

And now that I've been working with her for three years? Well, I spent the entire first year pestering her, telling her that she needed to stop pretending everyone was better, starting facing all of the haters (Agatha Switch and her pathetic little clique) and start listening. And it was definitely worth it. She's still a princess, but she's not so obsessed with the mundane little things that weighed down her life before, like the fact that she was drinking ponderosa tea, not mint tea. (It did taste very minty.) She's more... serious. Less willing to trust, after Gracie and Gwendolyn - and kind of Avada, too - both betrayed her. More of a tactician, a strategist. She can be ruthless when she has to.

And then there's another her. When it comes to the good of the world, she can be pretty darn ferocious. But when she's trying to better herself - then she's a total Soulist. Which is funny, since she was against the religion at first. Now that she's actually got a grip on her empathic powers, she understands people way amazingly. Which sucks, because unless I've got a mind barrier in my head, she might try to manipulate me.

But she can't kill - which is the important, and suckish, part. Because if she's "destined" to battle Virginia (her mom!) (and she's not really destined, it's just that she really does need to stop Virginia from destroying the world - destiny doesn't exist) how can she defeat without killing?

Do me a favor, readers, and read the new History Page, coming soon. It'll explain Kilathia (name subject to change at any time) and the other kingdoms in lots of historical detail, some myths from Kilathia and Nalemar (name subject to change at any time) and info on the Pranuerian gods.
