The Root of Frost - The Storyline

The series is called The Root of Frost. It contains five books in all. I've finally figured out how to write the first one. The rest will come easily. I do need title ideas, though, and comments on the storyline. PLEASE comment/give me ideas where I ask for them. It's very important.

BOOK ONE: THE CLONE CHILD

Samantha was a clone child, adopted by a kind soldier when nobody wanted her. She lived in the desert and had only three friends - her adopted mother, Bianca Sanchez, and a strange, furry creature named Chanter. One day, Bianca was taken away and never seen again.

Then Sam meets Justin Lucero, a boy who is convinced a magical world lies beyond the desert. They form a friendship, but Sammy refuses to join him in his journey. Justin sets out alone.

Alright, I need ideas here! I know Samantha will receive a totem, or a blessing from a god, where she gains at least the two fire swords, some sort of quest (not in the form of words - in an object) and will be convinced by that god (the Thunderbird) that Sam has to go and join Justin in his journey. She will, and find him starving, and save him. Somehow, the book isn't supposed to be centered on this journey - more like they'll find and entrance right away - but they have to quest in the desert long enough to fight some monsters and find out some stuff about each other. Ideas?

Anyway, once they get there, they have to go into Elysium, discover some dark truth about it, escape Elysium, and either have Amalia find them or associate themselves with Amalia. How they'll get from Elysium to Calathea I can't guess. Ideas, ideas.

The problem is that Sammy and Justin, while protecting Amalia and Venezza, also have to be finding something/fighting something/achieving some quest of some sort. They have to have a goal besides protecting, which is boring. Another question will be posed - who was Sammy's original maker (remember, she's a clone child) and why was she made in the first place? (How does that fit into the story?) Also, we have to learn about Mollie and her daily life, (including Albert) in order to start an antagonistic relationship between Sammy and Mollie - and later, a realization that Mollie isn't quite as terrible as she seems.

And in the middle, of course, is the fact that Sammy and Justin are having weird feelings for each other, Sam is homesick, Mollie's empathy is getting worse, as well as school, explosions, monsters, and a spy in the Castle. I'm not sure whether they should know their enemy already - Virginia, of course - or not. That would change the whole story.

Near the end, either Sammy or Mollie will get kidnapped, and one will save the other (with Justin, of course.) Mollie will get severely injured. At the very end, Natasha (Avada's new name) will come along and save Mollie with the unicorn hair, Gwendolyn and Gracie will be revealed as traitors, and Venezza will tell Mollie the secret - that Virginia is her mother. And Sammy will either go to Elysium or go home... if only for a little while.

BOOK TWO: WHEN TIGERS CRY

Sammy will be in Elysium when Calathea goes to war with Nalemar, for reasons unknown. Being a Double Seer, it's only natural that Sammy will intervene, but she can't do very much about a war. So she teleports to Calathea to find out where Mollie and the royal family is - only the find out that they were somehow stopped from returning from their Castle. They don't know about the war, but they're trapped - perhaps in the Vayl mountains - from an avalanche or earthquake. Sam can't stay with Mollie, so Mollie rides Venezza

  1. I like what you've come up with so far! What book is Tatiana going to come in? Also, is Cimoreene still going to be in it? I know she's not going to be Amalia's sister anymore, but...

  2. Whoa I like all the stuff you've added. Maybe in the first book Sammy and Justin could get from Elysium to Calathea through portal? Just a thought. And I think Justin should actually get kidnapped, instead of Sammy or Amalia, that way Sam and Mollie have to team up.
