Welcome. Or, Maybe Not

My name is Samantha Cruz, and if you want to sum me up in one sentence, you'd fail. But I can tell you that I'm a Double Seer, and that being here is putting you in terrible danger.

Oh, don't worry. I'm an expert combatant, best with my two swords. I can fight off any monster or person that might try to attack you - I think.

Where are you? In a safe place, hopefully. This is Elysium, one of the only safe places for Double Seers like me - like a miniature Earth on Othere. Othere and Earth are two different planets, billions of light years apart. But because I'm awesome, I can complete the trip in just a few seconds.

Double Seers are people - from Earth usually, but occasionally from Othere - who are chosen by the gods to be their champions. I'm "sponsored" by the Thunderbird, who's in control of the powers of flame and granted me my Double Seer powers and pyrokineisis.

Double Seers truly live in two worlds. Say I spend a day on Earth. Then at midnight, I have to make a choice - stay on Earth, or go to Othere? And then, when I make the choice, when midnight rolls around I kind of just... go to Othere. I feel like some invisible force is dragging me there and... poof, I end up in any location I want. Then at Othere's midnight, I make the choice again. What's helpful is that I can go wherever I want on the planet. Saves a lot of time. I can also transport other people with me. Occasionally I teleport multiple times a day, but it takes a lot of energy and really hurts.

Also, the Thunderbird granted me a weapon - two of his talons. They're my swords. I wasn't really granted the "magical" ability to sword fight, not really... the swords just feel really natural and balanced in my hand, like extensions of my arm. When I'm fighting, I don't think. I just follow my impulses.

Don't believe me? Maybe you shouldn't. Othere is dangerous. Being here - yes, even in Elysium - could kill you. This magical world isn't all fun and games. It's dangerous here.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

This is me, in my I'm-expecting-a-fight clothes. Made on DollDivine.
